GOOGLE SECURES TOP SPOT IN YOUGOV’s TECHNOLOGY RANKING IN INDIA

Alphabet-owned company Google managed to secure the top spot in research firm YouGov’s 2021 Technology Rankings.
This survey by YouGov ranks brands across hardware/software manufacturers as well as social media platform categories on the basis of on an ‘Impression score’. The score which happens to be a measure of whether a consumer has a positive or negative impression of a brand that is calculated by considering the average over a period of a year.
The brands with the highest average Impression score between 1 March, 2020 to 28 February, 2021 are showcased in these rankings.
While the domestic list was topped by search engine giant Google, the global top spot went up to Korean tech giant Samsung.
With an Impression score of 62.3, Google successfully made it to the top. On the other hand, second spot was held by WhatsApp, irrespective of facing regulatory challenges around the world with a score of 61, followed by Facebook (42.3) and Instagram (37.9) at third and fourth position respectively.
Newly launched online messaging app Telegram managed to secure sixth spot with 25.9, while micro-blogging platform Twitter (21.6) occupied tenth spot.
