Social media giant Facebook is currently working on a new version of Instagram that would specifically made up for kids who are aged under 13. Instagram recently came up with new policies which is likely to make it difficult for adult users to connect with a young user, if he/she is being followed by the young user.
According to a BuzzFeed News, social Instagram is working on a shortened version of its app which can only be used by children ageing not more than 13. Vishal Shah, Instagram’s vice president of product, wrote in an internal company post that “I’m excited to announce that going forward, we have identified youth work as a priority for Instagram and have added it to our H1 priority list.” He further wrote “We will be building a new youth pillar within the Community Product Group to focus on two things: (a) accelerating our integrity and privacy work to ensure the safest possible experience for teens and (b) building a version of Instagram that allows people under the age of 13 to safely use Instagram for the first time.”
